The first part of the old monastery was built in XVI century. Many buildings had been added during centuries. Today's appearence is the result of the 1950's renovationion. The complex still has masonry bricks with lime or adobe mortar, bricks vaults but concrete frames had been insert in the old structure.
The interventions just concluded improved building performances against earthquake. New roofs with impressive 14m long timber truss had been laid in place.
